Elsa Wirdby is a 4th year medical student in Uppsala and the new volunteer manager of MACHA. She has always loved meeting new people, learning about new cultures and exploring the world. In the summer of 2023 she visited the IIMC-project in Kolkata as a volunteer. There she met the founder Dr. Sujit Brahmochary, who encouraged her to be a part of the MACHA board, to give new life to MACHA after the pandemic. The experience taught Elsa a lot regarding inequality, global health and the need for education. As a volunteer manager she wants to help more people to be able to experience the important project in Kolkata, and to become interested in issues of global health.
